Offers PaperMatte display and full desktop-style workflow

Tablets have spent years existing between two roles. They were portable, but rarely replaced laptops. They were good for media, but less convincing when real work began. The promise of a single device that could handle writing, editing, note-taking, and creative work remained inconsistent across most devices.

HUAWEI is positioning the MatePad 11.5 S (2026) as a more complete answer to that gap.

Scheduled to arrive in the Philippines soon, the new MatePad combines a tablet, keyboard, stylus, and mouse into a unified workflow system. The goal is simple: allow users to move between writing documents, attending classes, sketching ideas, and managing files without switching devices.

Built as a complete productivity system, not just a tablet

The MatePad 11.5 S (2026) is designed to function with its core accessories as part of the main experience rather than optional add-ons.

The Smart Magnetic Keyboard provides 1.5 mm key travel, closer to what users expect from laptops. This allows longer typing sessions for reports, emails, or academic work without the cramped feel often associated with tablet keyboards. Multiple viewing modes allow the tablet to adapt depending on whether the user is typing, reading, presenting, or writing by hand.

The HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Gen) adds precise stylus input with over 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and low latency. Combined with the tablet’s PaperMatte display surface, writing and drawing feel closer to using pen on paper rather than interacting with glass. This matters for students annotating lecture material, professionals reviewing documents, or creators sketching concepts.

A wireless mouse completes the setup, allowing precise cursor navigation and desktop-style control. Together, the keyboard, stylus, and mouse connect using HUAWEI’s NearLink technology, which improves responsiveness and reduces input delay.

PaperMatte display focuses on long-term usability

One of the MatePad’s defining features is its Ultra-Clear PaperMatte Display, now in its third generation.

Unlike conventional glossy tablet screens, this display uses nano-etched anti-glare technology to reduce reflections and visual noise. HUAWEI says the updated panel reduces sparkle by up to 50 percent, improving readability under indoor lighting or near windows.

The textured surface also introduces subtle resistance when writing with the stylus. This improves control and reduces the sliding sensation common with smooth glass screens. Over extended sessions, the difference becomes noticeable, especially when taking notes or sketching for long periods.

The display integrates closely with HUAWEI’s Notes app and creative tools like GoPaint. Features such as AI Handwriting Enhancement and Equation Recognition help convert handwritten content into structured digital formats, which can be useful for academic or professional workflows.

Desktop-style productivity through WPS Office 3.0

The MatePad runs WPS Office 3.0, a productivity suite designed to operate with a desktop-like interface rather than simplified mobile layouts.

Users can create documents, edit spreadsheets, and build presentations while working across multiple windows. Split-screen functionality allows simultaneous access to browser research and document editing, reducing the need to constantly switch between apps.

The system supports advanced features such as chart editing, spreadsheet management, and LaTeX formula insertion, which are typically associated with laptop workflows. This expands the tablet’s usefulness beyond casual tasks into academic and professional use.

Hardware designed for portability and all-day use

The MatePad 11.5 S (2026) is built with mobility in mind.

It features a slim 6.1 mm metal unibody design and weighs 515 grams, making it easy to carry between meetings, classrooms, or travel. The device houses an 8,800 mAh battery with 40W fast charging support, allowing it to run through a full day of mixed productivity and entertainment.

Wi-Fi 6 connectivity ensures stable and faster wireless performance, which is increasingly important as work and collaboration continue shifting to cloud-based platforms.

The tablet will be available in Green and Gray finishes.

Availability and early offers

HUAWEI has confirmed that the MatePad 11.5 S (2026) is arriving in the Philippines soon, though final pricing and full retail availability will be announced during the official launch.

Early reservation offers include:

  • PHP 100 deposit for PHP 2,000 discount via HUAWEI Online Store
  • Additional PHP 500 vouchers through Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop

These promotions apply to early buyers ahead of the full retail rollout.

A continued shift toward tablets as primary devices

The MatePad 11.5 S (2026) reflects how tablet design has evolved beyond media consumption. The combination of desktop-style software, stylus integration, and full input support allows it to function as a primary work device for many everyday tasks.

For students, it replaces notebooks and laptops in a single unit. For professionals, it provides a portable writing and editing platform. For creators, it offers a digital canvas that travels easily.

The question is no longer whether tablets can handle real work. The focus now is how close they come to replacing traditional PCs in everyday use.

The MatePad 11.5 S (2026) is HUAWEI’s latest attempt to close that gap. With the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5 S 2026, HUAWEI brings together PC-level productivity, paper-like writing comfort, and all-day portability in one thoughtfully designed 4-in-1 device.

Early buyers from February 9 to 18 can also look forward to exclusive early bird vouchers. When you buy from the HUAWEI Online Store, a PHP 100 deposit gives you PHP 2,000 off your purchase, and you may pay the remaining balance from February 19 to March 9, 2026. You can also receive a PHP 500 voucher when you purchase from HUAWEI’s official Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop online stores.

Stay tuned for its official launch in the Philippines. Visit HUAWEI’s official website or social media accounts (Facebook | Instagram) for more updates.
