HONOR Magic V6 Now Up for Pre-Order with FREE HONOR Pad X8b
The HONOR Magic V6 has officially arrived in the Philippines, and HONOR isn’t being shy about where it wants its latest foldable to compete.
Priced at ₱119,999, this is unquestionably an ultra-premium smartphone. But rather than relying on the folding display alone to justify that price, HONOR is attacking several of the weaknesses that have traditionally made foldables difficult to recommend: thickness, weight, battery capacity and durability.
And on paper, some of the numbers are impressive.
Pre-orders for the Magic V6 run from August 25 to September 4, 2026, with buyers receiving a FREE HONOR Pad X8b worth ₱12,999 when they claim their units beginning September 5.
4mm thin, but built to take punishment
Foldable phones have spent years trying to become thinner without becoming more fragile.
The White Magic V6 measures 4.0mm when unfolded and 8.75mm folded, while weighing approximately 219g. That puts it much closer to conventional flagship territory than the thick, heavy book-style foldables we were carrying around only a few generations ago.
HONOR hasn’t sacrificed its durability story to get there.
The Magic V6 uses the company’s Super Steel Hinge, which has a claimed tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. An AI-assisted bionic cushioning structure is designed to absorb and distribute forces caused by accidental impacts.
Inside, HONOR uses UTG flexible glass to minimize the appearance of the crease. The cover display gets an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield using an ultra-fine silicon nitride coating with up to 5,600 layers.
More importantly, the phone carries both IP68 and IP69 certifications, giving it resistance against dust, immersion and high-pressure water sprays.
For a foldable, that’s a specification worth paying attention to.
6,660mAh changes the battery conversation
For years, one of the less exciting realities of buying a foldable was getting a smaller battery than you’d expect from a similarly priced conventional flagship.
HONOR is going in the opposite direction.
The Magic V6 packs a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, which HONOR claims is the largest capacity yet in a foldable smartphone. The battery uses approximately 25 percent silicon content and achieves an energy density of 921Wh/L, helping HONOR squeeze that capacity into such a thin chassis.
Charging is rated at 80W wired and 66W wireless, with wireless reverse charging also supported.
If real-world endurance lives up to those numbers, battery life could become one of the Magic V6’s strongest advantages rather than something buyers simply have to accept because they want a foldable.
Flagship hardware underneath
Powering the Magic V6 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, manufactured using a 3nm process and paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
HONOR says its full-stack Vulkan graphics engine enables supported games to run at up to 120fps on the inner display.
Speaking of displays, the phone has a 6.52-inch outer screen and 7.95-inch folding inner display, both supporting adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz.
Peak brightness is rated at 6,000 nits outside and 5,000 nits inside, while both panels support 4320Hz PWM dimming.
A proper flagship camera setup
Foldables used to come with another compromise: you could buy the company’s expensive folding flagship, but you’d still get cameras below its best conventional phones.
The Magic V6 gets a fairly serious triple-camera setup comprising a 50MP Ultra Light Sensitive Main Camera, 64MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto and 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera.
The 64MP periscope uses a 1/2-inch sensor and features CIPA 6.5-stop stabilization, which should help when shooting at longer focal lengths.
HONOR’s AI Falcon Camera System is complemented by software features including AI Color Engine, Magic Color 2.0, Magic Video Color and AI Image to Video 2.0.
The specifications are promising, although cameras are one area where numbers only tell part of the story. We’ll reserve judgment until we’ve spent enough time shooting with it.
The other half of the foldable equation
Hardware gets people interested in foldables. Software determines whether they’ll actually keep unfolding them.
MagicOS 10 introduces Fast Flex, allowing users to trigger dual split-screen multitasking through a folding gesture. There’s also PC-level Multi-Flex, which supports three simultaneous applications and is designed to handle large files exceeding 1GB.
Cross-device compatibility has expanded as well. HONOR Share supports interaction with devices including iPhone, Mac, AirPods and Apple Watch, while Quick Share enables app-free transfers between Android and compatible Apple devices.
The Magic V6 also ships with Google Gemini integration. Gemini Live can use the phone’s camera or screen as context, while buyers receive a three-month Google AI Pro trial with access to additional Gemini features, Veo 3.1 video generation, Nano Banana Pro, Flow, NotebookLM and 5TB of cloud storage during the trial period.
The ₱119,999 question
The HONOR Magic V6 costs ₱119,999 and will be available in Red, Gold and White.
That’s a serious amount of money for any smartphone, foldable or otherwise.
But the more interesting part of the Magic V6 isn’t simply that HONOR made another thin foldable. It’s that the company managed to combine a 4.0mm unfolded body, 219g weight, 6,660mAh battery, periscope camera and IP68/IP69 protection in the same device.
Those specifications address several of the compromises we’ve repeatedly associated with foldables.
Whether that’s enough to justify ₱119,999 will ultimately depend on how the Magic V6 performs outside the spec sheet. And that’s something we’ll have a lot more to say about in our full review.
