LG Takes On Europe’s Commercial Laundry at EXPODETERGO

LG Electronics is making a massive push into Europe’s lucrative B2B textile care market. Showcased at EXPODETERGO INTERNATIONAL 2026 in Milan, LG presented its full commercial laundry ecosystem—combining high-tech professional hardware with intelligent cloud-connected management tools.
While LG is a household name for consumer smart home devices, the tech giant is aggressively expanding its B2B portfolio across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. Here is a look at the key innovations LG brought to the show floor.
Next-Gen Hardware: AI Weight Detection and MotionCare Tech
At the center of LG’s showcase are mass-produced models from its Professional Laundry series alongside its new Wet Cleaning solution, making its official European debut.
Key hardware highlights include:
- AI Weight Detection: Automatically senses the load size to optimize water consumption and cycle times, maximizing operational efficiency for business owners.
- Dynamic Ball-Core System: Combines a built-in gyro sensor to detect real-time drum imbalances with a ball balancer to stabilize heavy loads and significantly reduce vibration during operation.
- Wet Cleaning with MotionCare: An eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical dry-cleaning. Using precise drum movements, water, specialized detergents, and low-temperature drying, it protects delicate garments from shrinkage, color transfer, and fabric damage.
Connected Ecosystem: LG LaundryCrew & Open API Integration
Hardware is only half the equation. LG is backing its commercial lineup with smart management platforms designed to give laundromat owners, hotel operators, and commercial facilities total oversight of their fleet.
- LG LaundryCrew App: Allows business operators and end-users to remotely monitor machine status, track usage, and manage operations right from a smartphone.
- Open API Platform: Provides enterprises with the flexibility to integrate machine data directly into their existing point-of-sale (POS) or enterprise management software.
Expanding the Global Footprint
LG’s European growth is already accelerating. Building on established distribution networks in the UK, France, Italy, and Hungary, LG recently secured a major B2B deal with Germany’s SCHILLING Wäschereitechnik GmbH, which is actively taking delivery of semi-commercial and professional LG units.
Beyond Europe, LG continues to scale its commercial laundry footprint globally—supplying major North American operators like CSC ServiceWorks and WASH, while expanding partnerships across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
“EXPODETERGO INTERNATIONAL provides an important opportunity to showcase LG’s full commercial laundry portfolio and connected management solutions to European business partners,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “Building on our expanding presence in Europe, we will continue to strengthen partnerships, support our customers’ operational efficiency, and accelerate the growth of our commercial laundry business.”
