Since it entered the Philippine market, vivo has established a reputation for being a smartphone brand known for its stylish designs and impressive camera capabilities.
But with the continued popularity of mobile gaming, vivo is finally joining the fray with the release of two new smartphones that aims to target the gamers.

The vivo T1 5G and vivo T1x are equipped with turbo-driven performance, appearance, and camera, and the series will be the first-of-its-kind vivo smartphone line supercharged for mobile gaming.
According to vivo, the T1 series seeks to elevate user experience and bring value-for-money to Filipino gamers.
We’ve been using the T1x for the past few days and here’s our unboxing and initial thoughts about the device.
UNBOXING: What’s in the box?
The vivo T1x comes in a white box with the vivo branding on the right side and the T1x label on the upper left. On the corner is the config of the phone we have for review which is the 4GB RAM + 64GM ROM.
Both sides of the box have the blue vivo branding at the bottom while on the back you have a couple of big stickers with the featured highlights printed as well as the IMEI and serial numbers.
Inside the box, the top compartment contains a jelly case and some paper documents, beneath it wrapped in plastic is the vivo T1x unit, while at the bottom is the 18W of charger, USB-C to USB-A cable and sim card ejector tool.
BUILD AND DESIGN
For the T1x, vivo decided to keep things simple. Instead of some sort of pattern or textured finish the T1x has a plain frosted look. The back is still prone to fingerprint smudges but its not as visible and you can always slap on the free case for added some protection.
The flat back and frame makes it nice to hold and since it is a gaming phone its worth noting that the weight is distributed evenly and its not difficult to hold in your hands even for long periods of time.

Looking around the phone, starting with the back is a rectangular module that houses the rear cameras and the vivo branding below it. On the top is the sim tray holder, while on the right side you’ll find the volume rocker and the power button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Below there’s the USB-C port along with the speaker grill and also the headphone jack. Its nice to know that vivo has decided to keep the headphone jack since a lot of gamers still prefer to use wired earphones/headphones.
The vivo T1x isn’t flashy but looks quite sleek enough to make it look a bit more premium whether you go for the Space Blue or Gravity Black colorway.
DISPLAY
For the display, the vivo T1x has a 6.58-inch LCD display with a 2408×1080 Full HD+ resolution. The large display is again a big deal for gamers and the FHD resolution makes watching movies and other content more immersive. It also comes with a 90hz refresh to make games play smoother.

CAMERA
The rear triple camera setup of the T1x is composed of a 50MP main camera and a couple of 2MP lenses. For selfies you get an 8MP selfie camera. We’ve taken a few photos and so far the quality is similar to the quality of other smartphones in its price range. Its decent enough for social media posting but I’ll try to get more photo samples for our full review.

PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY
The T1x has a Snapdragon 680 processor which has been the choice of a lot of entry level phones for its performance. It is then paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Performance is quite smooth for the usual smartphone tasks like messaging, calls, browsing the web, social media updates etc.
I’ve also installed and tried a few games such as Asphalt 9 and several other casual games and I have no complaints about slowdown or lags. But we’ll be trying out more resource hungry games like Genshin Impact to see how it handles it.
Lastly it has a 5000mAh battery with an 18W charging capabilities.

INITIAL VERDICT
Overall, the T1x delivers on everything you’d expect from a smartphone based on its specs and price. It looks nice, has a clear screen, capable cameras and the turbo mode is there to make sure that games play smoothly. Stay tuned for our full review soon!

The vivo T1x is now available at Php 8,999 at vivo’s official Lazada and Shopee stores and physical vivo stores.
