Xiaomi’s recent photowalk let enthusiasts capture Masterpieces in Sight at the City of Smiles
Since it was first celebrated in the 1980’s Bacolod’s MassKara Festival has become one of the Philippines most anticipated event every year.
It was initiated during a period of crisis for the city, as the sugar industry, which was the primary source of income for the region, was facing severe challenges. A tragedy also occurred around this time, with a ferry accident resulting in the loss of many lives. The festival was created as a means to uplift the spirits of the Bacolodnons and to create a sense of community and resilience.
The term “MassKara” is a portmanteau of two words: “mass,” meaning a multitude of people, and “kara,” the Spanish word for face. Together, they form “mask,” which is a central feature of the festival. The festival is also a competition, with various groups competing in dance and mask-making contests. Participants don colorful, smiling masks and elaborate costumes as they take part in street dances and parades earning Bacolod its nickname, “City of Smiles.”.
This year, Xiaomi provided a remarkable experience for fans and media attendees, allowing them to experience Bacolod’s vivid culture during the Xiaomi 13T Series Photowalk held from October 20 to 22, 2023. Participants were invited to capture breathtaking sights using the Xiaomi 13T Series.
Attendees had the opportunity to visit well-known spots throughout Bacolod, in addition to enjoying the dynamic Street Dance Competition and Street Party taking place as part of the festivities. These events provided perfect backdrops for taking vibrant, artistic photos and creating vlogs, utilizing the Xiaomi 13T’s 50MP rear camera capable of capturing both photos and videos in up to 2160p resolution. The 20MP front camera also stood out, delivering crisp, high-definition photos and 1080p videos.
Powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset and a 5000mAh battery, users can maximize the Xiaomi 13T’s pro-level camera features and browse apps smoothly wherever they go.
